Orange Plaid Ikat, Vintage Textured Kimono Silk from Japan By the Yard #411

Orange, white and yellow slubby silk plaid from Japan, hand woven so no two little ikat shapes will exactly match. Some are a bit like the letter S; those are probably the weaver's little flying birds. Some have a few threads of raisin tones.  This silk has quite a few slubs and lots of lustrous, soft bumpy texture.  It's thin and light, we're quite sure handwoven, with no shine. A true ikat, both sides are just the same.  14" wide and sold by the full yard; we'll cut yours in one piece from the never-used, excellent condition, vintage bolt. 100% Silk. Japan.
